Tucked away in the mountains of West Cork in the south west of Ireland, Gougane Barra Hotel is hidden in a romantic, glaciated valley.
Surrounded by the Gougane Barra Forest Park, this hotel offers hikers and nature-lovers a treat, with walking trails beginning from the front door.
We love bring guests on hiking expeditions up the valley. This can be through the forest or climbing steeply up the valley sides.
For a less strenuous stroll, Saint Finbarr's chapel is an easy 5 minute walk from the hotel.
There's not much else to do in Ballingeary except relax!
