Do Dual Nationals Need A UK Passport?

Dual UK nationals are required to show either their UK passport when entering the UK or an alternative 'certificate of entitlement' alongside their second nationality's passport.

While this rule does apply to dual UK nationals who are booked onto one of our Northern Ireland tours, it should be noted that there is no physical border crossing between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Neither are there formal passport controls nor customs checks between the two countries.

If you are a dual UK national and will reach Ireland via the UK — for example, by flying into London and then connecting to Dublin — please contact your local UK embassy for support.
