What Did Vagabond Guests Think?

Trip Advisor Heading Image
11 Day Driftwood Discover Ireland Tour
"Outstanding Accommodations"
The amazing historic sites, and the incredible natural beauty of Ireland were all outstanding. Equally outstanding were some of our accommodations - I was scurrying around taking pictures of gardens at several of our hotels!

7 Day World Tour Of Ireland
"The Hotels Were Excellent"
The hotels were excellent, meals great and our trip companions became our new family! We can not say enough good about our trip. The hikes, the horseback riding, the sheep farm and everything else - wonderful.

11 Day Driftwood Discover Ireland Tour
"Perfect Overnights"
Overnights in Clifden, Dingle and Kenmare were perfect. The lodgings were in town for the freedom to visit real pubs and not just the hotel bars of most other tours. Some other lodgings were luxury inns in the countryside.

Arnold's Hotel Dunfanaghy

Featured Hotel: Arnold's

Arnolds Hotel is a fourth-generation family-owned hotel located in the lively seaside village of Dunfanaghy on Donegal’s Wild Atlantic Way.

We love bringing our 7 Day Vagabond Magnetic North Tour guests to Arnold's, to do as little or as much as they might like.

Curl up by an open fire and relax, stroll the many local craft shops, bars and cafes or enjoy watersports on the beach, which is situated directly opposite the hotel, with stunning views of Horn Head and Sheephaven Bay.

What Type Of Hotels Will I Stay At?

Border

We put great effort into selecting accommodation for both Vagabond Cultural Adventures and Driftwood Journeys of Discovery.

You will be staying at small family-run hotels, high quality guesthouses or even an Irish castle hotel!

We are proud to support independent businesses in local communities.

We carefully select locally-owned establishments (in some cases for generations). Receive a heartfelt welcome, often from the hoteliers themselves. Each hotel is different and adds its own flavour to your experience.

What Time Does My Tour Leave & Return To Hotel?

Border

Your group will start exploring between 8.45-9.30am each morning.

Each evening, your group will return to your hotel at around 6pm.

Our tour itineraries are flexible. So the exact time that your group leaves and returns to your hotel each day will vary according to a number of factors:

  • The famous Irish weather
  • The next activity and its start time. For example, boat trips and guided bike tours have set departure times which your group must adhere to.
  • How late your group has been dancing the previous night!

Your VagaGuide will always prioritise your relaxation and preferences before sticking rigidly to departure and arrival times at hotels.

Do I Move My Bags On Tour?

Border

Your VagaGuide tour guide will load and unload your baggage from the tour vehicle.

What Are Hotel Rooms Like In Ireland?

Border

All of our hotels offer the following choice of room types:

  • Doubles (one bed)
  • Twins (two separate beds)
  • Singles (one bed)

The standard bed size in Ireland equates to a US Queen (60" x 80"). This may vary with hotel or room type.

Triple rooms are less common. Triples are usually one larger and one smaller bed. They suit families best.

Choose The Best Room For Your Tour

When booking with us, please select a room requirement for each passenger listed. Choose your room type based on each person sharing.

For example, if you and your travel companion need separate beds, both of you should choose TWIN.

If you would like to share a bed - then choose DOUBLE for both guests.

Please note: most TRIPLE ROOMS are comprised of 1x double + 1x single bed.

If you require 3 separate beds in a TRIPLE ROOM, simply let us know in advance: enquiries@vagabond.ie
