Yes, our Ireland tour itineraries are flexible.

Our scheduled departures feature set itineraries. While hotel stops each evening are fixed, daily activities are flexible.

The Skellig Michael Island landing and boat trip experience MUST be booked at least 45 days before your tour departure date.

If you intend to land on Skellig Michael, please let us know as soon as possible. This can be done during your pre-tour survey or by emailing us: enquiries@vagabond.ie

In the vast majority of cases, you don't have to decide on tour activities until you join your tour.

That's because you'll pay for the optional excursions on our itineraries locally, direct to the suppliers themselves.

We always put guest safety first on Vagabond Cultural Adventures.

For this reason, when engaging in kayaking and horseback-riding activities, the following personal weight limits apply:

🐴 Horseback-Riding

Male weight limit: 238lbs / 17 stone / 108kg

Female weight limit: 225lbs / 16 stone / 102kg

🛶 Kayaking

Per person Double Kayak weight limit: 110kg / 17.5 stone / 245lbs

Total Double Kayak weight limit for 2 guests: 190kg / 30 stone / 420lbs

Per person Single Kayak weight limit: 92kg / 14.5 stone / 200lbs.

Our regular touring season in 2024 runs from March 10th until October 22nd.

Some activities and attractions do not operate year-round. March and October departures are particularly affected. Where possible, we will offer a suitable replacement activity.

Simple answer = Lots!

All of our tours are packed with great scenery, local Irish culture and loads of laughs.

Hiking poles are not required for our hikes.

If you would prefer to use them, please bring collapsible hiking poles that fit easily into your luggage.

Our tour vehicles come equipped with one spare set of hiking poles in case a guest requires them at short notice.

All other equipment required for optional adventure activities will be provided by our suppliers.

Garnish Island features a beautiful formal garden, warm microclimate and Martello Tower. This amazing destination is located in a sheltered bay near Glengarriff in deepest West Cork.

The following Driftwood Journeys of Discovery feature a Garnish Island Boat Trip Option:

You'll need basic mobility to enjoy our small group tours of Ireland. That's because at least some walking is required on all of our tour itineraries.

For Vagabond Cultural Adventures, the fitness requirement is considerably higher than Driftwood.

To fully enjoy our itineraries, all guests must have a minimum level of fitness. Your ability to step onto our tour vehicles unaided is crucial.
