👋 Hi I’m Brian, Digital Marketing Executive and VagaGuide here at Vagabond Tours.
Born and bred in Cork, I love being able to share my home county with our guests on our Vagabond and Driftwood Tours. Kinsale just so happens to be one of my favourite locations to visit.
This harbour town is a feast for the senses and a true gem of the south coast of Cork with it being the starting point or final stop on the Wild Atlantic Way Coastal Route.
Colourful streets, a rich maritime history, and some of the best food in Ireland spring to mind.
Then there are the scenic walks, lively pubs, and the charm of its sheltered bay.
Read on to find out more about Kinsale.
🗺️ Where is Kinsale?
Kinsale is a quaint harbour town in County Cork, about 25 km (15 miles) south of Cork City. It sits right where the River Bandon meets the Atlantic Ocean. This location has shaped Kinsale’s story for centuries, once a medieval fishing port, later a bustling trading hub, and today a lively coastal getaway.
You’ll find Kinsale perched on Ireland’s south coast, at the very beginning/end of the Wild Atlantic Way.
