He identified a commercial opportunity to deliver top quality training and certification in a growth sector.
In early 2019, Rob purchased Greenbox Consulting Limited, trading as Ecotourism Ireland. The long term goals of widening the scope of ecotourism training and certification across the Irish tourism sector.
In late 2019, the business was rebranded as Sustainable Tourism Ireland.
In 2024, Sustainable Travel Network was re-launched.
What does Sustainable Tourism Network do?
Sustainable Tourism Network aims to stimulate the development of responsible tourism across Ireland.
The organisation developed an ecotourism quality label.
The goals of this label are:
- To stimulate the development of new ecotourism experiences in Ireland;
- Defend the ethical values of existing ecotourism operators;
- Guide visitors travel choices and help them to choose promoters of ecotourism products and the experiences they have on offer.
