Great first tour experience
We had a great time on the Magnetic Northern Ireland tour. All the hotels were good, including a couple amazing properties. All the restaurants recommended by our guide were excellent. Our guide was great and when weather cancelled a couple activities, he had back up activities that were awesome.

This was our first tour experience and we loved it. The hotels were great. The food recommendations were excellent. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was able to suggest other activities when needed.

Philip
, our tour guide and driver, made our Ireland experience terrific. He was well versed in historical information of Ireland as well as folklore of different local areas. He was a very good driver too and always reviewed our daily activities and timeframes . My son had a fall and injured his arm which required a visit to the hospital. got him there with minimal disruption to our schedule. As it turned out, the injury was minor and put my family's mind at ease.
Suggestions: We were booked on a 7 day vagabond magnetic north tour. We could have used one "free" day to catch up on rest or have a non scheduled activity day. Also, I didn't feel that enough emphasis was put on the difficulty of navigating some of the trails

Philip is the tour guide you want!
Philip was a great tour guide! He helped make the experience, answering all our questions along the way, giving us fun facts, keeping us occupied and moving! I loved all of the stops and hikes we made along the way. I had been to the north before, but this felt like a trip I've never been on before!

I liked that there was a mix of both hiking and more leisurely activities. This mixture allowed you to take in the stunning beauty of Ireland as well as get to know the area a bit more by visiting museums and other culture sites. I wish we had more time (even just 30 mins to hour) to spend at each stop so I could do more exploring, but on the other hand I loved that we were able to see so much in the 7 days.

"exhilarating and memorable"
Review Image

My wife and I chose to spend our 20th wedding anniversary in Ireland with Vagabond Tours on the 7 Day Magnetic North Adventure Tour. It was a grand adventure!

Phillip, our tour guide, was an absolute legend - as friendly as they come and with an impressive wealth of knowledge.

The scenery was stunning, with breathtaking views, especially along the incredible coast and the awe-inspiring Slieve League cliffs.

We can't recommend Vagabond Tours enough – it exemplifies the true spirit of Ireland!

"what an adventure!"
Review Image

We loved everything about our 7 Day Vagabond Magnetic North Tour.

Every day was an adventure—unforgettable hikes, fascinating history and stunning scenery.

We had a great group on our tour and our driver/guide Dave was certainly an asset to the trip. He was so easy going, a great storyteller and always made us feel safe both on the hikes and in the van along those winding Irish roads.

This was our second tour with Vagabond and we look forward to our next adventure with them.

"blew us away"
Review Image

Our expectations were high ... [Our guide] Andrew blew us away.

Really, the whole group was absolutely in love with Andrew, who was full of interesting and educating stories about Ireland and put up with all our shenanigans.

At all times he made sure everyone was safe, well fed and enjoying themselves.

With the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger: we'll be back!

Hotels

A hot shower after a mountain hike. A real fire. A pint. We assure you that wherever you stay with us, you’ll love it.

We put great effort into selecting accommodation on Vagabond tours. Your tour will overnight in locally-owned establishments (in some cases for generations). Receive a heartfelt welcome, often from the hoteliers themselves. No hotel chains here!

Londonderry Arms Hotel

A warm welcome awaits you at the Londonderry Arms Hotel, once owned by none other than Winston Churchill.

Ideally situated midway between Belfast and the Giant’s Causeway, the Londonderry Arms is an ideal base for exploring this beautiful region.

Bishops Gate Hotel

Originally built in 1899, Bishop's Gate occupies an historic building in the centre of Derry/Londonderry.

Our lucky Vagabond and Driftwood guests who stay here tend to love the blend of stunning Edwardian architecture with stylish rooms.

Historical Derry/Londonderry is a fully walled city in Northern Ireland.

It is famous for its intact walls, featuring 7 gates; hence the name Bishop's Gate!

Arnolds Hotel

If you’re a beach lover, you’re in for a treat at Arnolds Hotel.

Here on Donegal’s Wild Atlantic Way, you can do as little — or as much — as you like.

Curl up by an open fire, then relax with a drink in the hotel bar.

Alternatively enjoy the many craft shops, bars, cafes and watersport opportunities on your doorstep..
